It's an AI enhanced tool which helps users find an actor from a movie or TV show using just the character name, role, or their relationship with another character.

Why are you selling the business?

I only started this project to learn about the OpenAI API. It took me 48 hours to complete and it's been live for 8 days.

The extremely postive feedback I've received makes me think this project could go far with more time spent on it. I don't have enough of an interest to take it further though.

What is included in the sale?

• 2x domain names (findthat.actor and findthe.actor). Both registered until March 2024
• Source code for the project
• An export of to-date logs from Mixpanel and web analytics from Pirsch

What is the technological stack?

• Next.js
• OpenAI GPT 3.5-turbo
• Mixpanel (for logging)
• Vercel (for hosting)

What actions are required to keep the business working?

• Register an OpenAI API key
• Not much else. OpenAI costs less than $1 per month with the current volume and everything else is on the free plan for that service

How does your business make money?

• It doesn't yet, but a likely model would be some ads and traffic volume (by working on SEO)

What marketing initiatives have been used for this business?

• Twitter only. This has led to ~400 unique users in one week and lots of positive feedback
• The next logical step would be a Product Hunt launch after some improvements have been made

How can the future owner improve this business?

Here's just a few ideas:

• Show multiple actors if more than one person played the same character
• Improve accuracy (and the underlying prompts) further
• Use a database to store the results to make repeat queries faster
• Allow people to mark a result as incorrect
• Train the AI model to be more accurate based on people reporting mistakes
• Train the AI model to learn about movies newer than Sept. 2021
• SEO content
  • Blog posts
  • Character combination landing pages ('who played X in Y?')
• Switch to GPT-4 for improved accuracy
• Use images as input (coming in GPT-4, not sure if it's possible)
