Lokalblatt is a web app that helps people learn German with real news daily. Each article is simplified for beginners and shown next to English per sentence. Users can listen to audio in native German, click words for definitions, grammar explanation and tips, and save them as flashcards. The app updates automatically with new articles and runs on its own.

Why are you selling the business?

I built Lokalblatt for myself to learn German. It’s fully working and automated, but I don’t have time to market it. I just had a baby and have a busy full-time job at Google.

Almost none. The system runs automatically. Just monitor the server and Stripe payments monthly.

Freemium model with Stripe:

• Free users can read 1 article per day
• Paid users ($5/month) get unlimited access

What marketing initiatives have been used for this business?

I made one reddit post and a few comments on reddit promoting the app

How can the future owner improve this business?

• marketing via ads, social
• Add a mobile app (simple wrapper will do)
• offer higher pricing tiers, annual plans, or tier pricing on features
• expand to more languages
• partner with language schools, influencers
