Contapp is a self-funded, bootstrapped tech startup which is operating by myself, a solo-founder. As we've very recently moentised our platform, our revenue is low, however the potential for scaling the business is huge.

Why are you selling the business?

To understand any interests from an investors POV, but also to attract the right investors who believe can take the app to the very top. The shell of an incredible startup is there, along with very achievable visions of transforming the way business professionals share, manage and use business card data in a more streamlined approach.

I feel as a solo founder that i have taken Contapp as far as I can right now, by bootstrapping the business and growing it organically. I do not have the resources or team around me to take Contapp to the next level, although compared to competitors, our vision and platform far exeeds what's already available.

The opportunities are there, however it would require the right people with the correct contacts, opportunities and vision to fulfil it's potential. Compared to what what's already available in the market/App Stores, the app has all the ingredients to propel to the top.

What actions are required to keep the business working and what's the roadmap?

Rather than being your average business card scanner, we're pivoting towards becoming an all-in-one personal business hub, with plans to integrate powerful leading softwares within our app (LinkedIn, Google Calendar, Calendly, Slack, Zoom and more), as well as CRM platforms further along our exciting roadmap.

We're also looking to integrate more languages to our scanning feature (currently only British language) so that we can target more of an international audience. We have lots of other features in the pipeline which have been given to us by our community of users, but these are the highlights.

As a bootstrapped tech startup, we're also looking to continue our growth with additional partners/collaborations with many other innovative tech startups/businesses and eco charities that share our same ethos.

The total market size for business card software was valued at $1,057.6 million in 2019 and is projected to reach $3,065.8 million by 2027; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 14.7% from 2020 to 2027 (source: businesswire.com). So it's clear to see that with the lack of quality and innovation in this space from competitors, the gap in the market and demand is certainly there for the app to capitalise on.

We're completely bootstrapped and have grown the business organically. We've done this with in-house marketing and content creations, sharing this across our social media pages, email marketing, writing articles, ASO/SEO, partnerships and also collaborations such as podcasts & guest blogs.

We've even featured on the Google Play Store 'success stories' and featured on Australian news.

How can the future owner improve this business?

The main reason for selling Contapp is because I do not have the resources or team behind me to push Contapp to the next level and truly achieve it's potential.

The future owner can easily scale Contapp with some of our ideas in our roadmap above. The big opportunity for growth here is certainly integrations and partnerships, easpecially in the events industry & corporate approach to gaining more users.
