Root Checker is a simple, light-weight android utility app that has 250k+ installs on the play store. It is used to determine if an android device is properly rooted. The app is highly ranked on the play store for relevant targeted keyword searches. The app is highly rated on the play store. The app generates revenue through ads.

Why are you selling the business?

I am working on a lot of apps and my focus has always been on building. On this app, the growth is fully orgranic and I do not get enough time to market the app or focus on the monetization. I believe the new owner of the app can work on these aspects and monetize it better. Plus, I need some funds to support my further projects, hence I am selling it.

How does your business make money?

Revenue generation has never been a core focus for this app. I made this app for my own use first and later launched it to play store. However, I have added little ads on the app such that it does not interfere with the UX of the app. Currently, the app is monetized by Ads from startapp & appbrain. I also have a paid version of the root checker app that separately generates some revenue. I am willing to negotiate selling that app as well as a part of this deal.

What marketing initiatives have been used for this business?

The growth has been organic, I focussed on ASO initially to grow the app. Now, the app is highly ranked for relevant keywords, so downloads keep coming via organic searches

How can the future owner improve this business?

If the focus of the future owner is on revenue generation, the new owner can include more ads on the app to generate more revenue Users who use the app look for ideas/tips on rooting their phone or how to root their phone. The future owner can include such content within the app to drive more engagement. The future owner can also consider setting up some blogs on this topic and driver traffic on those blogs via this app. Additional revenue stream can be driven through the blog.
